There are some people that you just connect with instantly, and I felt that way when I met Abby and her sweet mom at her trial appointment. We laughed and dished about her upcoming wedding and the actual wedding day was just as fun! Her whole party was amazing and just as fun, and I got to spend the entire day with them for photos at Balboa Park. Here are some of my favorites from the day! I had a hard time choosing!

Working with other creatives in the wedding industry is something that I absolutely love doing. I designed this shoot with Bustle Events and The Hearts Haven. We decided to do a giveaway on Instagram and give a fully styled photo shoot to one lucky engaged couple. Anna & Derek were our winners and we had so much fun roadtripping to the desert to capture their photo shoot before their wedding day! I love when I get to work with an amazing bride and also some of my favorite wedding vendors too! Erin and Wayne had the most classically beautiful wedding with so much love surrounding them. It's always an honor getting to be a part of such a happy moment. Their gorgeous wedding was published in this month's issue of Exquisite Weddings magazine and Erin & Wayne are now getting prepared to celebrate another beautiful moment awaiting the arrival of their first baby! Congrats, you two! :)

June & Daniel and their wedding party couldn't have been any sweeter to work with! From the moment I met June at our trial I knew it was going to be a fun wedding full of love and laughs. I also love a bride who doesn't take things too seriously and can go with the flow and enjoy her day to the fullest. June was so laid back that she decided to try something completely different with her hair on the day of her wedding and we both loved it even more :) Sometimes you just have to go where the moment takes you!

As you can see, Pia has the most contagious smile so it's perfect that she chose a bold, red lip to show it off! The theme for their wedding was old Hollywood glam and it turned out so beautiful! Fun fact: Pia had never worn a red lip in her life, but decided to do it for her wedding day!! Love bold girls! She rocked it!

Everyone that knows me knows that I have always had a love and infatuation with Africa and even minored in African studies in college just because I loved learning about the culture so much. I've had the idea tucked away for awhile about putting together my dream shoot inspired by Africa and the immense beauty. I didn't want to do it until I had the perfect team of people in place that I knew would be equally as passionate. I'm happy to say it was worth the wait for the team of amazing talent that came together!
I'm honored and thrilled that the discerning New Zealand magazine, Magnolia Rouge, wanted to feature 10 pages in their gorgeous magazine! AND 100 Layer Cake, in a joint promotion, is also featuring it today on their blog.

I loved working with this amazing couple! Big thanks to the talented event designers, Pow Wow, for the intro! Susan & Todd not only utilized my hair & makeup service, but had me style their entire wedding wardrobe which was a little daunting at first when they told me there were 13 bridesmaids and 13 groomsmen!! It ended up being a smooth process & they put their complete trust in me which I appreciated. I wanted the wardrobe to reflect their very unique wedding & personalities. Todd is a botanist so we decided on earthy tones and mismatched looks for the bridal party. Since their look was so specific we had several of the looks for the guys custom made by local menswear company, Crow Thief. I loved helping them choose each swatch, thread and button that added to the specialness of their day. For the girls I put together a group of dresses and colors that didn't necessarily match, but complimented one another. This let each girl pick her own style & favorite fit, keeping everything about the day fun and laid back like Susan and Todd. We spent a lot of time over the past year and I feel like I've known them my entire life. I'm thrilled for them & the many more married adventure these two have ahead!!

When Cheri contacted me about doing her hair and makeup for her wedding I was so excited! I loved her soft color palette, dress and her incredible location at Cabrillo National Park. I absolutely love this photo shoot collaboration with some of the most talented ladies in San Diego! We wanted to create a different and more romantic vision of boudoir.
