There are some people that immediately light up a room and have pure joy that radiates from them. Sabrina is one of those people and I loved getting to know her and sweet family and friends who traveled from New York & Germany to get married on Mission Bay! Sabrina wanted a bold makeup look and it was stunning on her. She chose a beautiful combination of corals and navy to accentuate her blue eyes! She reminded me so much of Kate Middleton!

It was a gorgeous day filled with so much love and happiness and I know they will have a million more days that are filled with the same. Many congrats to the beautiful couple! xoxo

I'm excited to be back to my blog after taking some time to be with a new addition to our family! We welcomed a baby boy to the Thorne Artistry home front and we couldn't be more thrilled! I'm also thrilled that my first blog back is a wedding that I loved loved being a part of!

I had the privilege of working with Lauren twice before her actual wedding day! Once, for her engagement photos, and again when I did the hair and makeup for her best friends wedding when she was a bridesmaid! Her wedding was just as gorgeous as I knew it would be! I'm also incredibly thankful that Lauren trusted me enough to figure out her wedding hair on the fly on her actual wedding day without a trial! It turned out to be one of my favorites to date!! The amazing team of vendors and friends made it feel like a big reunion and fun celebration all day!

Sarah & Danny | Married

Sarah was a complete joy to work with! She felt like a long lost friend and I loved spending her wedding morning with her, and her mom and sister getting ready at my studio. Sarah planned her destination wedding from Massachusetts so the first time that we met was just days before her wedding, but it felt like I already knew her. Her destination wedding in Balboa park was so beautiful and intimate and I was so excited to see these stunning photos of her day!

When Kelli contacted me about doing her hair and makeup for her engagement shoot I was originally booked. When she told me her vision I was incredibly sad that I wouldn't be able to do it. I must have willed it to happen or the stars were perfectly aligned that day, because my photo shoot that I originally had got rescheduled and I was so happy that she hadn't found someone else! 

This shoot is so incredibly romantic and what engagements should feel like. Kelli wanted a very natural look that was clean and whimsical. She said she wanted it to look glowy and fairy-like:) I loved how everything turned out and am so happy for this beautiful couple!

Brenda & Drew | Married

This turned out to be such an incedibly beautiful wedding! I was so worried for Brenda & Drew getting married outside on the hottest day San Diego has had in a long time! It was easily over 100 degrees and we got everyone ready in a place with no AC!! It was brutal. This is why I am a big believer in using the best products possible like airbrush. I was so happy to see that Brenda's hair and makeup stayed all day and night..yay! I loved her tropical vibe with a twist of a retro feel. So perfect for the Japanese Friendship garden! Alison & Dylan | Maternity

It's always fun to style maternity sessions and to meet mamas-to-be! It's the same feeling that I love about weddings: getting to celebrate one of the best moments in life and being a part of the happiness that everyone is feeling! Alison was absolutely glowing and she was such a trooper driving all the way from L.A. (that's pretty remarkable when you're 35 wks pregnant with twins!!!). Her doctor gave her the okay and she was excited to do a photo shoot to capture this incredible moment in time! I can't wait to see all of the squishy baby photos to come in just a few short weeks! Best wishes to this beautiful family! xo

There are some people that you just connect with instantly, and I felt that way when I met Abby and her sweet mom at her trial appointment. We laughed and dished about her upcoming wedding and the actual wedding day was just as fun! Her whole party was amazing and just as fun, and I got to spend the entire day with them for photos at Balboa Park. Here are some of my favorites from the day! I had a hard time choosing!

Joshua Tree | Published

Working with other creatives in the wedding industry is something that I absolutely love doing. I designed this shoot with Bustle Events and The Hearts Haven. We decided to do a giveaway on Instagram and give a fully styled photo shoot to one lucky engaged couple. Anna & Derek were our winners and we had so much fun roadtripping to the desert to capture their photo shoot before their wedding day! Erin & Wayne | Married

I love when I get to work with an amazing bride and also some of my favorite wedding vendors too! Erin and Wayne had the most classically beautiful wedding with so much love surrounding them. It's always an honor getting to be a part of such a happy moment. Their gorgeous wedding was published in this month's issue of Exquisite Weddings magazine and Erin & Wayne are now getting prepared to celebrate another beautiful moment awaiting the arrival of their first baby! June was so laid back that she decided to try something completely different with her hair on the day of her wedding and we both loved it even more :) Sometimes you just have to go where the moment takes you!

Being busy is a wonderful thing, but I'm feeling guilty that it's been so long since I've updated the blog! I'm absolutely thrilled to share with you a shoot that I put my heart and soul into! Local photographer, Jen Wojcik, and I were dying to do a photo shoot at the Salton Sea with a soft, muted palette.
