Pacific magazine | Stassi Schroeder

I adore working with San Diego's Pacific magazine. I always know it's going to be some fun celebrity hair & makeup when they call!

It was such an incredible day, and one of the most fun photo shoots that I've worked on to date with Stassi Schroeder of the popular Bravo show, Vanderpump Rules! I honestly had no idea what to expect since people are painted in a very different light on TV. I thought Stassi would most likely be nice, but I had no idea how funny she'd be. I've never laughed so much at work! Check out my IG page for some fun behind-the-scenes videos. Check out the cover issue here!

Thanks to Pacific magazine for having me back for another fun cover shoot! Pick up a copy at any retailer in San Diego! xo

Afton & Reid | Married

Sometimes you just connect with people right away and feel like you've found a long, lost friend! Afton is one of those people! We hit it off at her hair and makeup trial and I just knew that her wedding was going to be as amazing as her (and it was!!). Just a little peek below at the incredible beauty of the day.

For her wedding look, she chose a smokey eye and bright pink lip to compliment the amazing florals from Siren Floral. We went with mink lashes to add some extra drama. Her hair was one of the most fun styles that I've done to date. I adored creating this double, pull through braid (we used extensions and a few other tricks to achieve the thickness!).

Her boho chic wedding was at the New Children's Museum and couldn't have been more perfect! Only the best wishes for this lovable couple! xo

Wedding | Inspired

Just a little look at a collaboration with some of my favorite San Diego vendors, Whiskers & Willow Photography, and Native Poppy!

I'm dying to release the entire shoot, but alas it's going to be published soon so these teasers are all that's allowed for now!

Stay tuned for more from this incredibly romantic wedding photo shoot!

Spring | Inspired

Inspired by all of the rain and green in San Diego, I wanted to play with color and textures for this styled photo shoot with The Hearts Haven. My current obsession is velvet and when I found this amazing mustard yellow gown, it became the focal point of our shoot. Paired with a smokey eye and berry lip, I love the unexpected colors and rich feel for Springtime.

I love the fashion styling part of my job as much as doing hair and makeup and when I get to do all three for a cohesive vision I'm in complete heaven.

Borrowed & Blue | Best Makeup 2017

What an incredible honor & surprise to find out that Thorne Artistry won the prestigious 'Best Makeup' category from Borrowed & Blue and was voted on (unknowingly) by fellow San Diego vendors. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I'm more grateful than you'll ever know! xo

Some of my favorite makeup looks this year!

Tiffany & Victor | Married

I've always had a love of the desert so I was over-the-moon when I got an email from Tiffany asking if I'd come out to Joshua Tree. Once I found out about her incredible style and fun personality I just knew this would be one of my favorite weddings and it was!

There is something magical about the desert, and also about this wonderful couple. Tiffany & Victor both knew that they wanted their colorful personalities reflected in every aspect of their day and it couldn't have been more perfect!

I adored every detail of this wedding and it really goes to show how breathtaking a wedding can be when the couple is 100% true to themselves and in the moment! Total boho, desert wedding perfection! xo

Happy New Year | 2017

This has been one of the happiest and hardest years to date. I've had to say good-bye to some precious loved ones, and I gave birth to the sweetest baby boy on the planet. I've watched my daughter go from a little baby to an incredibly smart & hilarious toddler. My husband and I have banded together to figure out a new reality of having two babies and the usual life/work balance. It's always amazing to me how much happens in the course of a year. That's why starting the New Year is always a mixture of emotions, wondering what our lives hold in store next.

I want to thank all of my beautiful brides and clients that I've had the honor of working with this year, and let my 2017 brides and future clients know that I'm as overjoyed now, as I was 6 years ago starting my business, to be a little part of your incredible life moments. Getting to design the visions and creations in your head make me one happy girl. Keep them coming!

From my little family to yours, I sincerely wish you treasured moments, fulfilling experiences, and boundless love in the New Year.

Thank you to my dear friend Aimee from The Hearts Haven for these beautiful family moments that I will always cherish.

xoxo Amanda

Patricia & Kevin | Married

This wedding is an absolute stunner! I loved the intimacy of a small courthouse wedding and the day that was spent with close friends and family to celebrate. Everything about Patricia and her style is pure elegance with a touch of an ethereal vibe that I adore!

Patricia wanted  a very soft and romantic wedding look and it really suited her delicate features! I loved her rose pink lip and bronze eye that we decided on with a loose wave that we pinned to the side.

The photos tell the tale of the incredible day & the video is an added bonus (I also love looking back on my 9-months pregnant belly when this was taken!).

Quincey & John | Married

Quincey is my gorgeous California bride now living in Michigan. I knew that her wedding was going to be over-the-top beautiful from the moment that she contacted me! We both love a soft, and romantic look and she chose peach accents with her makeup that really popped on her and complimented her overall vibe.

For hair, we did a half up, half down look with lots of volume and a fun twist in the back! Her cathedral veil couldn't have been more perfect to complete the uber-elegant look.

I had a hard time picking my favorite photos and moments from her day. Check out all of the dreaminess below and the fabulous San Diego vendors!

Sarah & Jay | Married

Everything about Sarah & Jay's chic, downtown wedding was stunning, and every last detail was well thought out and total perfection!

Sarah came to the trial with some edgy, yet clean and modern looks in mind and we both immediately loved the idea of a literal twist on the classic pony and a bold eye to show off Sarah's gorgeous brown eyes. Her look was a great choice for her short lace dress that had a classic feel with a bit of a retro vibe.

I couldn't have asked for a better bride or team of vendors! I adore everything about this day! xoxo

Alison & Steve | Married

It was so much fun getting to be a part of Alison and Steve's Monday afternoon elopement! This was such an intimate and sweet day for just the two of them to be married and explore San Diego and all of their favorite places! I loved the bold makeup and soft, romantic hair that Alison chose.

She had her wonderful photography team come along to my studio that morning to document the day! We even did an impromtu Facebook Live makeup tutorial while she got ready to include her friends and family on one of the most important days of her life!

I adore the photos and the sheer joy and fun that they had making the day completely about them. This is true love at it's finest and what marriage is all about! xoxo

Elopement | Published

This edgy elopement shoot was featured this week on one of my favorite wedding blogs, 100 Layer Cake

I loved styling this edgy elopement look with a custom veil that I made especially for this shoot. I found the gorgeous lace wedding gown on Asos, and wanted to show off Nikki's gorgeous, fair skin with a smokey eye and bright red lip!

Sabrina & Christopher | Married

There are some people that immediately light up a room and have pure joy that radiates from them. Sabrina is one of those people and I loved getting to know her and sweet family and friends who traveled from New York & Germany to get married on Mission Bay! Sabrina wanted a bold makeup look and it was stunning on her. She chose a beautiful combination of corals and navy to accentuate her blue eyes! She reminded me so much of Kate Middleton!

It was a gorgeous day filled with so much love and happiness and I know they will have a million more days that are filled with the same. Many congrats to the beautiful couple! xoxo

Nadia & Bryce | Married

Nadia is one of those brides who just oozes style without even trying! I knew her wedding was going to be amazing from the moment that I met her and loved everything about her look. She wasn't afraid to be herself and let her wedding day be a reflection of her incredible style and fashion sense. The gorgeous palette of lavender mixed with bright hues, bold lips and a flower crown were flawless! Check out her beautiful day and the pure joy of being married!

Lauren & Dennis | Married

I'm excited to be back to my blog after taking some time to be with a new addition to our family! We welcomed a baby boy to the Thorne Artistry home front and we couldn't be more thrilled! I'm also thrilled that my first blog back is a wedding that I loved loved being a part of!

I had the privilege of working with Lauren twice before her actual wedding day! Once, for her engagement photos, and again when I did the hair and makeup for her best friends wedding when she was a bridesmaid! Her wedding was just as gorgeous as I knew it would be! I'm also incredibly thankful that Lauren trusted me enough to figure out her wedding hair on the fly on her actual wedding day without a trial! It turned out to be one of my favorites to date!! The amazing team of vendors and friends made it feel like a big reunion and fun celebration all day!

Sarah & Danny | Married

Sarah was a complete joy to work with! She felt like a long lost friend and I loved spending her wedding morning with her, and her mom and sister getting ready at my studio. Sarah planned her destination wedding from Massachusetts so the first time that we met was just days before her wedding, but it felt like I already knew her. Her destination wedding in Balboa park was so beautiful and intimate and I was so excited to see these stunning photos of her day!

Kelli & Nick | Engaged

When Kelli contacted me about doing her hair and makeup for her engagement shoot I was originally booked. When she told me her vision I was incredibly sad that I wouldn't be able to do it. I must have willed it to happen or the stars were perfectly aligned that day, because my photo shoot that I originally had got rescheduled and I was so happy that she hadn't found someone else!

This shoot is so incredibly romantic and what engagements should feel like. Kelli wanted a very natural look that was clean and whimsical. She said she wanted it to look glowy and fairy-like:) I loved how everything turned out and am so happy for this beautiful couple!

This couple is the definition of fun, and their love for each other and life is contagious! How many people get married at Petco Park during a baseball game!? That's just a small glimpse into the beautiful and heartfelt wedding day that I was so happy to see first hand. Here are some highlights from their incredible wedding day that the world also got to see on the jumbotron! Love it!
