Brittanee is recently married. Her new husband, Ryan, just left for a
yearlong deployment in Afghanistan. Before he left, Brittanee, MLE Photographs, & Thorne Artistry
secretly arranged a special photo shoot for him to remember his
beautiful wife while he is away. With soft spring colors and a flare of
vintage, Brittanee wanted a series that captured her fun loving
personality with just a touch of sultry.
Prior to his departure, she was able to hide a small
album inside his bag. Needless to say he was ecstatic when he discovered
the album, and its contents, while unpacking a few days later. What a
wonderful memento for him to carry throughout the following year; a
small yet powerful reminder of the woman half a world away but close to
his heart. You can see more of Brittannee’s boudoir session deployment
gift in the gallery. This is by far one of my favorite shoots that I've been a part of this year (and a joy to style!) and one of the most special. Adding to the excitement, this shoot is featured on one of Thorne Artistry's favorite wedding blogs, The Wedding Chicks! Special thanks to Studio B Floral, Pow Wow Vintage Rentals, Rikki Tieman, and Amie Wilde.

Thorne Artistry teamed up with MLE Photographs for this concept shoot to give girls a different take on the usual boudoir session! We wanted to have a more boho feel and use the gorgeous elements in nature for our backdrop! We hiked the woods to find THE perfect location and it was so worth it! It had just rained the day before and it made everything glisten and brought out the vibrancy of Spring! I wanted to style the clothes with a vintage yet modern feel and keep the makeup fresh and youthful. I love how sweet and playful this shoot is without being overtly sexy. We hope you enjoy the natural and romantic feel of this gorgeous shoot! Special thanks to Studio B Floral, Pow Wow Vintage Rentals, Rikki Tieman, and Amie Wilde. Thorne Artistry is honored to have this shoot featured on Urban Style the wedding network and part II will be featured on another favorite wedding blog later this week! Stay tuned for more romantic inspiration!
I was asked to do hair and makeup for local clothing designer, Jennafer Grace, and JUNC boutique owner, Jeffrey Parish. This gorgeous shoot features Jennafer's stunning long, black cut-out dress and Junc Boutique's white baby doll-style dress modeled by TraeLee Costello. Lovely photography by Emily Powley of MLE Photographs!
I cannot tell you how much I love being a part of photo shoots that think outside of the box! Your wedding is the most amazing day of your life so why not spice it up with a fun, creative theme to express who you are or something that you love?? And who doesn't love Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory! I couldn't wait to pull out some purple eyelashes and sparkly lips for this one! This Willy Wonka inspired photo shoot was recently featured on Urban Style the wedding network and made possible by a host of amazing vendors in San Diego. Photos by Siegel Thurston Photography in La Jolla. I hope this shoot inspires your own big day and the sheer joy of getting married!

I was thrilled to get a call from the band Everest's manager with a request to style a two-day photo shoot for some new publicity photos for the boys. With a new CD set to come out sometime in the early summer & with one of their favorite rock star photographers Zoran Orlic passing through town, the shoot came together perfectly! Since there were only a few days to pull together 2 days worth of clothes for 4 men along with various props I called in some amazing help! Huge thanks to my incredible styling assistant Amie Wilde, Pow Wow Vintage Rental goddess, Melissa Strukel and the sweetest husband in the world who is ever patient with my requests to schlep furniture & clothes:) Everest were recently on Jay Leno and their new album will hopefully be out sometime in June. I've had a sneak preview of a few tracks and can attest to it's awesomeness!
I was honored to be asked to do hair & makeup for this incredible fashion photo shoot. The inspiration was derived from the fabulous Coco Chanel mixed in with some old world charm. It was wonderful to work with the talented photographer Chad Elliott Hirata, fellow wardrobe stylist Arianna, and our model Claressa who fit the part to a tee! This was such a great team to work with and it shows in the images...breathtaking! This is only a small preview of what's to come! Stay tuned for much more and thanks to everyone involved for such an inspiring shoot!! xo

The gorgeous Valentina knew exactly how she wanted to look on her wedding day which I always appreciate! Her exact words were " I want to look like Kim Kardashian!" Luckily, Valentina had the long dark hair and pretty eyes so I knew this wasn't going to be a far reach! If she had come to me with short blonde hair and blue eyes I might be worried! :) Basically I knew she wanted a dramatic smokey eye and nude lip with her hair down with some beautiful curls that were very shiny & silky a la' Kim K! The look was perfect for her old hollywood style theme & rainy night wedding at the Balboa Park Prado (thankfully the venue had an indoor portion too!). Her look takes me back in time and is ultra romantic which I'm sure Ignacio appreciated! Rain is considered good luck on your wedding day and I know Ignacio & Valentina will have a lifetime of good luck and happiness...a perfect couple and a perfect wedding day!

This was a photo shoot for a new, upscale boutique opening in San Diego and also for a feature in San Diego's Riviera Magazine. Erica debuted the gorgeous ensembles and worked in the rain and shine to make them look beautiful. This was a two day shoot with Tim King Photography representing the outdoor portion and Be My Light Photography for the indoor shots.

Emily is the coolest! She created a beautiful wedding day with a million DIY elements that she was working on as I was doing her hair and makeup!! Now that's some serious dedication! Of course all of the hard work paid off and she had an enchanting wedding day with her amazing family and friends who were a part of the personal touches. I was so happy when she asked me for something a little different and fun for her makeup. Her colors were sea foam green (which I love!), navy, and rose so we agreed that a pop of green with her red hair would be amazing & it was! We decided on a fun braid across the back and she looked like something out of a romantic story book. My little nephew thought she looked like a mermaid:) A very stunning mermaid maybe! Susan Yee from En Pointe Photography captured the day beautifully.

Christina was as cool as can be on her wedding day! Her smile is contagious and you can tell by the photos that she soaked up and enjoyed each precious moment! I love to see brides when they are really IN the moment and can savor the euphoria and how amazing it is to get married! Christina wanted to make sure that her look was something that she loved, but also something that her groom would love (very thoughtful!). Her groom doesn't love a lot of makeup so it was important to make her feel glamorous and beautiful, but nothing too over-the-top. She was very happy with the balance of understated, but still glamorous. She is absolutely radiant and I wish everyone the pure joy that she had on this amazing day:)

This was such a fun day doing a photo shoot for a national hair extension company called EasiHair who wanted to update their current packaging. Rissa Johnson from Hyde Edwards is the master behind these gorgeous hair extensions (I couldn't tell either!!) and it was so much fun working with the sweetest husband & wife team, Christopher & Bri from Vaughngo Photography. Be on the lookout for these gorgeous models, Mika & Jessica, gracing
an EasiHair box at a store near you:)
I absolutely loved this photo shoot & working with AE Martin Photography! Every girls dream to style and do hair and makeup for a vintage photo shoot involving 50's inspired wedding dresses from Peppermint Pretty. I loved every minute shopping for accessories, baking cupcakes, and finding lots of vintage-style props. This is a sneak peek of the amazing day...full shoot coming soon!

Never in a million years did I think I'd be asked to do hair, makeup and styling for an 1800's Renaissance Themed Wedding! This Halloween Wedding was amazing because all of the guests were asked to dress in the loose theme of Renaissance/Steam Punk/ or Victorian which came together as a very cool sight to behold! Camille decided to go for an earlier period with Marie Antoinette as her influence while her Mom opted for a more 1800's Steam Punk kind of vibe, and her Dad rocked his old school military uniform perfectly! The Inn at the Park was the perfect venue to capture the family and MLE Photography did an amazing job! I'm not sure Camille loved sitting through getting her body painted white, but I loved the challenge of capturing the baby doll look that gave women back in the day their exquisite pout and porcelain skin. Another reason I love what I do! Something creative every single day:)
This Fantastic Fall photo shoot is incredibly swoon-worthy...the mixture of brilliant Fall colors, retro elegance, sheer romance & the most adorable couple ever! MLE Photography captured the tenderness & playful moments beautifully & it was an honor and pleasure to collaborate with fashion maven extraordinaire, Jennafer Grace! Ciro & Julieta were a dream couple and the photos make me so happy!!! Enjoy!
It was so nice spending time with Lisa & Kiley and their wonderful photographer Susan Yee of En Pointe Photography. I love using airbrush makeup giving the ultimate creamy dreamy skin that I wanted to be the centerpiece for Lisa. We kept things really fresh, polished, & natural. Kiley was a good sport letting me tone down his sunburn (also airbrushed) that I promised him would look natural in the photos (and thankfully it does!) They are both glowing and I'm pretty sure it's not just the makeup:) ♥
This was a day after the wedding, 'Trash the Dress' session, captured by Alicia Swedenborg Photography who came all the way from Sweden for Camille & Danny's big day! They were surprised to find out California does get heavy rain on occasion:) We all braved the elements for this photo shoot! Trying to style a shoot in the pouring rain & crazy wind on a bluff overlooking the ocean in Carmel was pretty intense, but pretty awesome! The good news...AMAZING photos that remind me of a romance novel & we discovered that waterproof makeup really does work! And I thought the soaking wet hair worked great on Camille...she looks gorgeous!
